February update on Small Acts of Friendship

It is exciting that Small Acts of Friendship is now up and running on the elderly care wards at Royal Sussex County Hospital with newspapers now available daily for patients and new activities beginning.  Co-ordinator Paola O’Sullivan explains: ‘massage and footcare will be available for patients from the week of 5th February.  Oils based massage for hands and feet can promote relaxation and reduce anxiety in patients;  clinical staff will identify which patients may benefit from these services, which are all free’.

Hairdressing and nail care, opportunities to get creative with an art therapist and digital reminiscence therapy are all to start during February.

Our next fundraising event for Small Acts of Friendship is a pub quiz at the Better Half in Hove on Monday 12th March. Details here. You can support our fundraising efforts through JustGiving
