We at the Friends take our responsibilities seriously when we make decisions about how the money given to us is spent.
We know that most people in our City will at some point depend on the NHS care.
About 75% of the funds we raise are spent on our acute Trust, BSUH which runs the Royal Sussex County Hospital. The majority of in-patients in the City are looked after here. Cardiac care, Renal care and oncology are based here, as is the Sussex Eye Hospital and the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital.
The remaining 25% of our funds are given to support the work of the Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust which provides care for patients at home, and Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, which provides for mental health care in the City.
This ability to provide support to such a huge range of wards and departments makes our charity special. Details of equipment which we have bought in recent years can be found here.
