TO HELP THE NHS DURING THIS EMERGENCY, STAY AT HOME AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.
The global Covid-19 pandemic brings to each and every one of us particular challenges. We all have our own fears: for ourselves, for elderly relatives and friends, for students and young people whose GCSEs, A Levels and Finals have been cancelled, for pregnant women, for grandparents unable to meet their newborn grandchildren, and for the added stresses on those who already have mental health needs.
At the Friends, we are fortunate in that we have been able to make arrangements so that the charity can keep working. Our Trustees and staff will not meet in person, but we will still be able to consider funding requests from front line clinicians in the NHS Trusts we support, and we will still be able to accept donations. Our events and meetings are all being cancelled or postponed as we follow Government advice to minimise social contact.
Front line health care professionals are being asked to come forward and take this challenge on and we want to support them as much as we can by STAYING AT HOME when possible.
We can also form local community networks to support those living alone or confined to the house - there are groups on Facebook and local churches are actively involved in this.
We can keep talking to people by phone or through social media. This is an enormously stressful time for almost everyone and supporting each other really matters.
You can contact the Friends at our usual email address or by phone on 01273 664936.
