Christmas card designs - a call out for year 11 and 13 art students

Brighton Pavilion Ice Skaters’ by Darren Menezes

‘Brighton Starlight’ by Megan Turvey, graphic design

‘Samba BandStand Brighton’ by Gil Mualem-Doron

As the summer begins, we are asking amateur or professsional artists to submit Christmas card designs to Friends of Brighton & Hove Hospitals to use to raise funds in December 2020.
As part of our fundraising we sell Christmas cards every year. These sell much better if they are of a local scene and we have been using local artists for this reason. We encourage artists of all ages and have in the past used younger artists: for 2016, one of our designs was by a local sixth form art student. This was a good experience for her which she was able to use to support her application to continue her studies.

Specifications are listed below for artists in the city interested in submitting a design for Christmas 2020.

The design needs to have a clearly local theme and can be printed as a 12.5cm square, or 10cm x 15cm landscape or portrait.

We need submissions to be emailed to us at . Our charity Trustees will then decide which images they would like to go ahead and have printed. Unfortunately we are not able to pay the artist but we do provide several packs of cards for their personal use and will not reuse the print in other years without their permission. Each card has a full artist credit with contact details on the back.
